Take a sneak peak into one of my Natural Baby Photoshoots
Having professional photos of you baby is incredibly popular nowadays and there are so many different styles you could go on to choose. I choose to specialise in a more natural style with gorgeous neutral tones to ensure timeless galleries for clients.
Each baby is so unique and different. Some are sleepy, some are wide awake, some are milk monsters! Whatever the needs of your baby on the day of the photoshoot, a natural approach allows for us to create images that are true and honest. Capturing moments that matter.
Most babies that visit me are a mixure of sleepy, hungry & awake. My 2 hour photoshoots allows for plenty of time to get all the natural images that we need and time to see to any of the baby’s needs All of my clients have the same thing in common – they want a natural baby photoshoot where baby is relaxed, comfortable and respected. I do not spend endless hours trying to get your baby to sleep. It becomes stressful. So if on the day baby is awake and happy, because my style is not reliant on baby sleeping, we can really make use of the time.
I used the think that baby’s face had to be in every single picture. Now I know this isn’t the case. Small details matter.
I would be lying if I said I didn’t have a workflow or that I didn’t pose baby. It’s important that I have a photoshoot workflow so I know that I am covering all the best angles and shots. Through the years of experience I have, I know what works and what doesn’t. I do not want to be winging it when I come to your photoshoot. It is too important. Likewise, as cute as babies are, a small degree of gentle posing is necessary. Again, to get beautiful angles, make use of the gorgeous natural light and produce a gallery of varied stunning images. But I never put baby into an uncomfortable position and I certainly do not squish them into a prop.
Beautifully natural photoshoots for the beautifully natural baby
In your arms is the best place and the best prop that I use. Babies are the most comfortable when they are wrapped in your arms – they feel secure and safe. You will also notice that if I take a photo of you and your baby, that your face might not be in focus or your face might not be fully in the photo. This is purposeful. Your face does not need to be in every single image. Just your presence.

When your face is in the image, you will also realise that you do not always need to looking at the camera. For me, the traditional “say cheese” photos (the ones for grandma) get a bit boring and are limiting and sometimes awkward. Saying that, one or two of you smiling for the camera is lovely. But I also like the “in the moment images”. When it feels like it is just you and baby.
